THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran Sports Information Director
Faith Wayman has been selected to participate in the 2026 Division III Athletic Communicators Emerging Elite Program, taking place December 6-8 at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis.
Launched in 2024, the Emerging Elite Program is a professional development initiative developed in partnership with the Division III Sports Information Directors Association (D3SIDA) and College Sports Communicators (CSC) to support the next generation of athletics communication leaders across Division III.
Wayman is one of 30 athletics communication professionals selected nationally for this year's program. Participants will take part in interactive leadership sessions, team-management and collaboration exercises, skill-building workshops and discussions surrounding the evolving landscape of athletics communication. The program also provides opportunities for in-person networking with fellow Division III communications professionals and includes complimentary registration to the 2027 College Sports Communicators Convention.
Wayman was nominated for the program by Cal Lutheran Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator
Katie Bell.
"I am incredibly grateful to Katie for nominating me for this program and to D3SIDA, CSC and the NCAA for selecting me," said Wayman. "This is such an exciting opportunity, and I am really looking forward to learning from the other professionals in the program, building new relationships and bringing those experiences back to Cal Lutheran."
Wayman returned to Cal Lutheran in January 2026 as the university's Sports Information Director after previously serving as the department's first-ever Sports Information and Marketing Graduate Assistant. In her current role, she leads athletic communications for the Kingsmen and Regals, overseeing the department's website, statistics and records, media relations, social media platforms and live streaming operations.
A Cal Lutheran alumna, Wayman earned her master's degree in Sports Management in May 2025. She also serves on the College Sports Communicators Mentorship Committee and oversees Cal Lutheran's Sports Information Internship Program, providing students with hands-on experience in athletics communications.
"I'm especially excited about the leadership and professional development side of the program," Wayman said. "I'm still so early in my career, and I want to continue learning how to be the best communicator, leader and mentor I can be. Getting to spend three days at the national office with other young professionals who are committed to Division III is an incredible opportunity."
