CLU's Hall, UR's Wagener Selected as D3CA Men's Sport Scholar-Athlete of the Year Nominees

Water polo standouts Lincoln Hall of California Lutheran University and Max Wagener from the University of Redlands have been selected as the SCIAC nominees for the Division III Commissioners Association Men's Sport Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.

Both will advance to the next round of regional consideration.

Hall, a sports management and sports communication double-major with a 3.609 grade-point average, also starred in swimming & diving as a two-sport All-American. Graduating Cum Laude and a three-time College Sports Communicator Academic All-District honoree, he earned First Team All-America recognition in the 100-yard Breaststroke and Second Team All-American in water polo. He interned with Young Athletes for Christ and the Santa Barbara Foresters in addition to working with the Cal Lutheran sports management club and a Port Hueneme Junior Lifeguard.

Wagener, a psychology major with a 3.931 GPA, won a pair of national championships and was named First Team All-America in 2024, when he also was a CSC Academic All-District selection. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, he made the Dean's List all four years at Redlands and earned SCIAC Athlete of the Year recognition as a senior. Wagener volunteered in the University garden and rehabilitating elementary school gardens in addition to campus activities that included serving as vice president of the Psychology Honors Society, a psychology department tutor and SAAC representative.
