NCAA Championship: Stags Season Ends in Semifinals

The No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges Stags ended their season as a rally came up just short against Case Western Reserve University, 4-2, in the semifinal of the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship.

Advik Mareedu and Josh Kim locked up one doubles match 6-0 at court #2 but the Stags came up just short at #3 (6-4) and #1 (7-6 [5]) to drop what proved to be a crucial doubles point. Mareedu notched another win with a 6-2, 6-2 decision at #1 singles to level the match. CWRU picked up points at both #2 and #5 to pull within one of clinching the match. Caleb Settles stole back some momentum with a 6-2, 7-6 (4) victory at #6 and Matthew Robinson won a tiebreaker to force a third set but could only get to 5-2 in the third before the match was already decided.
