Pomona-Pitzer Colleges swept top individual recognition as
Sydney Landauer earned a second career Offensive Athlete of the Year award and
Shelby Stanton debuted as Defensive Athlete of the Year to headline the 2025 SCIAC Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Teams.
Landauer, who also received top offensive recognition in 2023, led the conference by a wide margin with 78 total points (6.50 per game) with both the top goals (41) and assists (37) marks. The senior converted a clinical 68.3 percent of shots for scores while fueling the conference’s top offense to 21.3 goals per game.
Stanton returned from missing all of last season with an injury to marshal the league’s top defense that allowed a mere 4.10 goals per contest in 10 games played. The junior picked up 18 ground balls and directly caused nine turnovers while directing teammates and closing effectively on cutters.
University of Redlands first-year
April Bryant received Newcomer of the Year recognition after exhibiting strong two-way skills that earned both Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week recognition during the season. The rookie compiled 27 goals and six assists on offense to go with 21 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers, as well as pulling down 75 draw controls to rank third in the conference.
Chapman University’s
Lyndsey Huss was presented with the Character Award, given to a senior who best exemplifies success on the court, in the classroom and with involvement in community and school service. Huss has led a culture shift through building a family-like community that every team member is proud to be a part of as a team captain all players feel they can come to for any reason. The senior organized a dedication game and fundraiser through the LaCrosse Out Cancer nonprofit organization this year, banding together with teammates to raise over $3,000 for the Pediatric Cancer Research organization.
Sarah Queener and the Sagehens bench earned Coaching Staff of the Year acknowledgment after leading Pomona-Pitzer to a fourth straight regular season conference title. With both the league’s top-ranked offense and defense, Pomona-Pitzer averaged a 16.6-goal margin of victory while also leading the conference in ground balls (294) and caused turnovers (178) by wide margins.
The Sagehens led all teams with seven First Team and 10 total All-SCIAC selections, followed by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges with six First Team and seven total honorees. Redlands landed four total selections including one First Teamer, as did Occidental College and Chapman with three total apiece. Another former Offensive Athlete of the Year,
Shoshi Henderson, earned the distinction of being named to four career First Team squads, while Landauer also reached four career All-Conference selections including three straight First Team nods.
Annika Carlson (CU),
Hannah Gough and
Fiona Lewis (PP) and
Maeve Moylan (Oxy) all made their third All-SCIAC First Team, with 2024 Offensive Athlete of the Year
Grace Minturn (CMS) repeating on the First Team for a third All-Conference acknowledgment in as many years. Pomona-Pitzer’s
Caroline Donegan returned to the First Team after a one-year hiatus while CMS’
Julia Ryan and
Natalie Teare repeated on the top squad and fellow Athena
Taylor Daetz made the step up after consecutive seasons on the Second Team. Yet another Sagehen,
River Buechner, and Athena,
Amelia Ulmer, also stepped up from being Second Team selections last year. Oxy’s
Olivia Okamoto landed a third career All-Conference nod while teammate
Evie Kim earned a second consecutive All-SCIAC selection and Redlands’
Emily Webster three-peated on the Second Team. California Lutheran University’s
Malina Diaz also repeated on the Second Team.
