Gerung led No. 18 Caltech to road wins over Chapman University and Occidental College to keep the Beavers in a three-way tie for two SCIAC Tournament berths. The rookie teamed with Anika Arora to win Caltech’s only doubles match against the Panthers before pulling even after a 3-1 deficit in singles with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory at court 3 to set up Payal Patel for the deciding point. Gerung again brought the Beavers within match point with a 6-1, 7-6 (4) decision that Arora and Patel then sealed.
