Gold launched a home run in all three games as No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges opened SCIAC play with a sweep of No. 22 Chapman University. The left fielder went 6-for-11 with four walks, stole five bases, racked up eight RBI and scored nine runs to account for more than a third of the Sagehens’ 40 runs over the series.

Position: Relief Pitcher
Hometown/High School: Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. / Alta Loma
 
Halbeisen picked up the win for No. 18 University of La Verne with a five-inning relief appearance at Pacific (Ore.) University. The senior struck out six batters against two walks and three hits while permitting a single run in the 11-3 victory.
