Gretzinger mustered a late rally for Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in a 24-17 win against Pacific (Ore.) University in which the Sagehens came back from a 9-3 halftime deficit. He completed 22 of 29 passes for three touchdowns while also gaining 42 yards on the ground.

Name: Oscar Montenegro
School: University of La Verne
Year: Sr.
Position: Linebacker
Hometown/High School: Aquinas
Montenegro picked up a fumble with the game tied in the third quarter that led to the go-ahead score as the University of La Verne left Washington state with a 26-21 win over the University of Puget Sound. He totaled 11 tackles that included two stops at the line of scrimmage and a key second-endlong that forced a punt on the Loggers’ second possession.

Name: Rich Brutto
School: Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Year: Jr.
Position: Kicker
Hometown/High School: St. Augustine
Brutto converted the game-winning field goal with one second remaining to move Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges to 2-0 on the season with a 16-7 victory over George Fox University. He showed resilience in coming back from missing his first chance earlier in the quarter, booting the 47-yard kick to set a new career mark by six yards.
