Edwards recorded a pair of 20-point efforts as Caltech split the week with a 74-57 victory over Bethesda University and a 65-51 SCIAC defeat to Occidental College. She scored 23 points on 10-for-12 shooting with a made three-pointer on her only attempt against the Flames and added another 24 with two assists, four steals and 13 rebounds to complete the double-double against Oxy.

Defensive Athlete of the Week
Name: Toni Thompson
School: Occidental
Year: Sr.
Position: Guard
Hometown / High School: Newbury Park, Calif. / Newbury Park

Thompson forced two steals and a block while grabbing eight defensive rebounds as part of an Occidental College defensive effort that allowed just 51 points in a win over Caltech. She completed the double-double with 16 points and 10 total rebounds plus and an assist to lift the Tigers back over .500 in SCIAC play.
