The Pomona-Pitzer Colleges Sagehens claimed a third Division III Men's Cross Country national championship in four seasons, led by the SCIAC Athletes of the Year for the past two years,
Lucas Florsheim and
Derek Fearon.
Results
Running in a field of 294 in Newville, Pa., the Sagehens won by a single point over UW-La Crosse, 158-159. Florsheim and Fearon placed ninth and 10th, respectively, and were closely followed by
Cameron Hatler in 25th and
Colin Kirkpatrick in 27th.
Jack Stein rounded out the scoring for the Sagehens in 119th for a team average of 25:00.07.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges placed 12th, edging St. Olaf University in a tie at 338 points.
Mason Ratkovich headed the Stags in 62nd place with a time of 25:24.6, followed by
Andrew Blelloch in 69th,
Oliver Pick in 89th,
Nicholas Taubenheim in 95th and
Hayden Beauchemin in 123rd.
Amir Barkan finished 68th as an individual for Occidental College in a time of 25:30.3, with Caltech's
Rohun Agrawal placing 88th (25:37.7) and
Joey Litvin 137th (25:56.3).
