The 2022 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) baseball teams were announced Wednesday following a vote conducted by the league's member head coaches.

Shiota hit .465 during the regular season, notching 47 hits, 17 doubles, a triple, and eight home runs to go along with 41 RBI and 11 walks. In 16 of 24 conference games, Shiota had two or more hits, and twice registered four hits in a game - March 5 against Redlands in an 11-10 victory, and April 2 against Caltech in a 12-0 victory. The Cerritos, Calif. native also secured a .526 on-base percentage, a .891 slugging percentage, and a .982 fielding percentage as an outfielder.

The 2022 SCIAC Pitcher of the Year honors went to Chapman's Wyatt Thompson. The junior right-hander started all seven SCIAC games he appeared in, posting a 5-0 record and tossing one complete game. Over 45.0 innings pitched, Thompson allowed seven runs on 23 hits with 20 walks and 48 strikeouts en route to a 1.40 ERA. On three occasions, Wyatt didn't allow a run and never allowed more than five hits in any of his appearances. In a 6-1 win over Occidental on April 2, Wyatt fanned 11 batters.

Pomona-Pitzer's Isaac Kim was tabbed the 2022 SCIAC Newcomer of the Year. In his debut collegiate season, Kim started 24 conference games at first base for the Sagehens and logged a .343 batting average, collecting 36 hits, six doubles, seven homers, and 38 RBI over the course of the SCIAC campaign. He also drew eight walks leading to an on-base percentage of .398 and a slugging percentage of .600. Kim also registered a .989 fielding percentage. In 12 SCIAC games, the Valencia, Calif. native collected multiple hits, including three hits in four games during the regular season.

The Leopards' Tanner Siffert was named the Character Award winner. Siffert started every game his senior year and has his entire career at La Verne. The La Verne, Calif. native is a leader and has exhibited the most professional approach to practice and games that the La Verne coaching staff has seen, and has always been a model of consistency.

Chapman head coach Scott Laverty and the Panthers' assistant coaches earned the 2022 SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year honors for the third straight season having also earned the distinction in 2019 and 2021. Laverty, who guided Chapman to the NCAA Division III Championship title in 2019, led the Panthers to the top seed in the conference tournament for the third time in as many opportunities.
