The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) has named a total of 2,229 student-athletes across the league's 21 sponsored sports to the 2020-21 All-Academic Team.
The SCIAC All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 3.40 or higher and must have completed one full calendar year at their current institution. SCIAC student-athletes demonstrate the NCAA Division III philosophy enabling a full collegiate experience, beyond the arena of competition and the classroom.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) led all institutions with a total of 375 all-academic selections, followed by Pomona-Pitzer and Occidental with 278, Caltech with 269, and Chapman with 260 to round out the top five institutions in the league.
In addition, the following student-athletes were tabbed as SCIAC Scholar Athletes by their institution. Criteria for the award is established individually by each participating institution, and the award winners are tabbed as SCIAC Scholar Athletes. The 2020-21 recipients are: Varun Shanker and Molly Crotteau (Caltech); Zach Hardman and Elyse Koe (California Lutheran); Henry Zeisler and Emmie Farber (Chapman); Connor Schulz and Katrina Ostrom (CMS); Jacob Adler and Jada Newkirk (Occidental); Calhoun Helmberger and Brenna Dolen (Redlands); and Alexander Jelloian and Hannah Angileri (Whittier).
Note: Bold and italicized indicates a Spring sport SCIAC Athlete of the Year. The SCIAC did not officially compete in Fall or Winter sports during the 2020-21 academic year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
