Congratulations to Redlands' Cathleen Penney for being named the SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week!

Senior Cathleen Penney (Sacramento, CA) gained her third straight SCIAC Swimmer of the
Year honor as she led the Bulldogs to a strong second-place finish at the SCIAC Swimming &
Diving Championships.  She posted a first-place time of 57.16 in the 100 Fly, which is a new
Redlands and SCIAC meet record as well as an NCAA Qualifying time.  She also won the 200
Individual Medley with an NCAA "B" time of 2:08.04.   She rounded out her strong final
campaign by swimming on the winning 200 Free Relay that posted a time of 1:37.22.  This
time not only met the NCAA "B" standard but also established a new Redlands and SCIAC
meet record.  Penney also helped the 400 Medley Relay finish second with a time of 3:59.83
for an NCAA "B" time.  Finally, she contributed to the 200 Free Relay, which also finished
second with an NCAA "B" time of 7:48.37.
