2016 SCIAC Women's Golf All-Conference

PASADENA, Calif – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognizes athletic excellence through its All-Conference Awards. The All-Conference selections recognize outstanding participation and performance in conference play. Nominations and votes are submitted by the head coach of each team in the conference.

Athlete of the Year     
  Caroline Ordian SO Redlands

With back-to-back Athlete of the Year honors, Ordian had another outstanding season in 2016. Ordian captured the SCIAC Championships individual title after moving from third to first over the three-day event. With scores of 77-75-72 for an eight-over total of 224, she led the field with nine birdies while recording 30 pars over the 54 holes. She guided the Bulldogs to back-to-back conference championships and consecutive NCAA appearances.

Ordian finished ranked No. 1 in conference play with her shooting average at 75.57.

Newcomer of the Year    
  Kelly Ransom FR Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

  The first-year finished the 2016 season ranked No. 2 overall posting a 78.29 shot average. Ransom finished the SCIAC Championships in fourth place overall (231), seven shots behind individual medalist Caroline Ordian of Redlands. She closed the tournament with her best round (and the Athenas' best round) of the event, a 3-over par 75.



Coaching Staff of the Year    
  Redlands   Head Coach: Jack Stewart
In his first year as head coach for the Bulldogs, Stewart has brought to the program his outstanding success as a high school coach that spans more than two decades. The Bulldogs repeated as SCIAC Champions in 2016 and head to the NCAA tournament. Stewart served as the Associate Head Women's Golf Coach during the 2014-15 season and took on most of the on-course coaching responsibilities for the Maroon and Gray.  He and former coach Salvesen joined forces to create a quality combination that helped propel the Bulldogs to their first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) title and inaugural NCAA Championship appearance.
