Starla Wright continues to lead the first-place Regals basketball
team. In a win over Whittier on Thursday the senior recorded a
monster 17-point, 17-rebound double-double by shooting 50.0 percent
from the floor and going 8-for-9 at the charity stripe.
Additionally, she recorded a pair of assists, a block and a steal.
In a hard fought 53-49 win on the road at Occidental she shared the
team-lead with 13 points, adding a game-high eight rebounds with a
pair of steals, a block and an assist. Wright was 9-for-12 at the
line and was responsible for breaking a 47-47 tie with 1:59
remaining in regulation with a free-throw. She would hit two more
at the 1:22 mark as CLU held on for the win and the season sweep of
the Tigers.
