La Verne Captures 9th Consecutive SCIAC Volleyball Crown

For the ninth straight year, the University of La Verne volleyball team claims the title of SCIAC Champions.

La Verne showed its championship form with a dominating performance over Whittier College, cruising to a 25-17, 25-6, 25-7 triumph over the Poets Tuesday night at Graham Athletics Center to clinch its ninth consecutive SCIAC crown and the 22nd overall in the program's storied history.

The SCIAC title gives the Leopards, the nation's third-ranked team in Division III, an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament which begins next week.
