SCIAC Honors Female Athlete of the Week: Cal Lutheran's Summer Plante-Newman

The junior outside hitter notched 20-plus kills in all three conference victories this week against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (22), Pomona-Pitzer (24) and Redlands (26). She also notched double-doubles (kills-digs) against the Sagehens (24-16) and had match-highs of 31 digs and 26 kills against the Bulldogs. She hit .559 against the Athenas (22K-3E-34A) to go along with four service aces in a 3-0 victory. In all, Plante-Newman hit .306 totaling 72 kills, 53 digs, eight aces and 4.5 blocks to wrap up the week's action.
