SCIAC Honors Male Athlete of the Week:  Cal Lutheran's Kyle Hansen
April 30, 2008

CLU:  Kyle Hansen, Track & Field
On Saturday, Kyle Hansen became the first SCIAC athlete in six years to win three individual SCIAC titles at the 2008 Conference Championship meet. All three of his event wins in the 110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles and long jump were NCAA Provisional Qualifying marks.  In the 400-meter hurdles he not only won the event but his prelims time of 53.41 broke a 31-year school record set in 1977.  He was the lone jumper to break the seven-meter mark (7.02) in setting a career best and ranking sixth all-time in school history.  Hansen won the 110-meter hurdles by nearly one full second (14.90) and became just the seventh person in school history to break the 15-second barrier.  The junior was also the anchor on the runner-up 4x400 meter relay squad and was clocked at 47.7 split.
