ITA Division III Regional Awards Announced

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the 2017 Division III regional award winners on Thursday, May 18, 2017. The national award winners will be unveiled next week. The SCIAC dominated the west awards on both the men's and women's side. 

Chris Fabrizio from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was named the Assistant Coach of the Year helping the Stags to a No. 3 ranking.  Nikolai Parodi from CMS was named the ITA Rookie of the Year while Jake Yasgoor from Pomona-Pitzer was named the Senior Player of the Year. Isa Kibria from Occidental earned the ITA/Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award while Pomona-Pitzer Colleges was honored with the ITA Community Service Award. 

Dave Schwarz from CMS was named the Wilson/ITA Coach of the Year as he guided the Athenas to a perfect 28-0 record heading into a NCAA quarterfinal matchup with Washington University. Andrew Cohn from Pomona-Pitzer was named the Assistant Coach of the Year. Samantha Mae Coyiuto from Pomona-Pitzer was honored as the ITA/Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship award recipient.  The SCIAC Newcomer of the Year, Nicole Tan from CMS, was also named the ITA Rookie of the Year. Junior Lindsay Brown from CMS was named the Player to Watch while Katie Kousman also from CMS was named the Senior Player of the Year.  Pomona-Pitzer was honored with the ITA Community Service Award.
