Kearney paced Cal Lutheran to a 3-1 record to start the season, netting three goals and assisting on two others for a combined eight points. A senior from Concord, Calif., Kearney netted a goal and aided another as the Kingsmen opened the season with a thrilling, 3-2 win over No. 6 Franklin & Marshall. He also provided game-winning markers against Whittier and Chapman as Cal Lutheran began SCIAC action with 3-0 and 2-0 victories respectively.

Augustine was terrific between the pipes for Chapman during its 2-0 week which featured SCIAC wins over La Verne (1-0) and CMS (1-0). Augustine played all 180 minutes in goal, turning away a total of seven shots on goal, including five from the Stags en route to posting a pair of clean sheets. His back-to-back shutouts gave the Panthers their first two victories of the season.

Boone helped Redlands to a 2-0 week which saw the Bulldogs earn a 3-2 win over CMS, and a 3-0 win over Whittier. Boone totaled six points on the strength of two goals and two assists, including a goal and two helpers in Redlands’ win over the Poets. His goal against the Whittier served as the game-winner before he provided a pair of insurance assists to help seal the victory. Against the Stags, Boone’s marker gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 advantage, helping his team improve to 6-0 in SCIAC action.

Walsh carried Occidental to a pair of SCIAC wins, helping the Tigers secure a 5-3 win over CMS before his squad notched a 4-1 win over Whittier. Walsh totaled four goals and two assists during the week for a combined 10 points, finding the back of the net twice in each contest, while providing an assist in each game. The Washington, D.C. native also converted a penalty try against the Poets as he registered a .750 shots on goal percentage during the week.

Howe directed Chapman to a 2-0 week which featured a pair of 2-0 SCIAC victories for the Panthers. Chapman defeated Occidental, 2-0 before besting Caltech by the same margin. Howe scored three of the team’s four goals during the two-game stretch, including both markers against the Beavers, as well as what proved to be the game-winning tally against the Tigers. Howe fired a combined 10 shots on frame during the week with seven of them on target.

Garcia paced Cal Lutheran to a 2-0 week as the Kingsmen registered a pair of SCIAC shutouts against Caltech (3-0) and Occidental (1-0). In Cal Lutheran’s 3-0 victory over the Beavers, Garcia turned away five shots, while fending off both shots on target he faced against the Tigers. The Kingsmen improved to 7-2-1 in conference play with the two wins.

Arnold led Cal Lutheran to a 1-0-1 week which featured a 5-2 win over Pomona-Pitzer and a 1-1 double-overtime draw with Redlands. Against the Sagehens, Arnold exploded for all five of the Kingsmen’s scores as he converted five of his seven shots on goal in the game. Against the Bulldogs, the sophomore from Poway, Calif. tallied an assist on Cal Lutheran’s game-tying goal which came in the 76th minute of action.

Valencia of Redlands led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week after providing the game-winning goal from 30 yards out to give his squad a 1-0 victory over Pomona-Pitzer. The win sealed the 2017 SCIAC regular-season title for the Bulldogs. In a 2-1 win over Occidental, Valencia notched an assist on Redlands’ first goal of the game as the Bulldogs secured a 2-1 win and an undefeated 12-0-2 conference record.
