Knudsen was selected to the D3Hoops.com National Team of the Week
after scoring a career-high 38 points in a 71-62 victory over
Pacific (OR) University on Dec. 20. He shot 14-of-18 from the floor
including 6-for-8 from three matching his career-best of six
triples. His offensive output was the most by a CLU player since
Ryan Hodges posted 53 against Redlands on February 9, 2005. It is
also the highest mark against an opponent other than Redlands in
the last decade. Over this recent stretch of six games Knudsen has
led the Kingsmen offense averaging 17.5 points per game and
currently ranks fifth in the SCIAC at 16.3 ppg for the season.
Mike Edwards, Caltech
Men's Basketball
(Freshman, Guard/Forward - Canyon HS/Canyon Country, CA)
In the Holiday Classic, Caltech freshman Mike Edwards scored 28
points against Rivier College on Saturday. He added 9 rebounds and
3 steals. He followed that performance with 29 points - including a
Caltech record seven 3-pointers - versus Westminster (PA). He added
4 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Edwards was perfect from the
free throw line during the weekend (11 for 11). The first year
player is averaging 21.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He has
19 steals and 8 blocked shots this season while shooting 84 percent
from the free throw line.
