SCIAC Honors Male Athlete of the Week:  Redlands' Amir Mazarei

Congratulations to Redlands' Amir Mazarei for being named the SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week!

Senior guard Amir Mazarei (Thousand Oaks, CA) led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 showing in their final week of the season to finish in a tie for second place in the SCIAC standings.  In an exciting 136-129 overtime win against Whittier College, Mazarei posted a game-high 37 points, going 12-for-29 overall and hitting nine three-pointers.  He also tallied four steals, three assists, one rebound, and one block.  In the Bulldogs' dominating 125-43 victory over Caltech, Mazarei added a team-high 20 points, including four three-pointers.  He also contributed six steals, four rebounds, and two assists.  Mazarei was instrumental in the Bulldogs' best conference finish and best overall record since 1991-92.  It was announced on Friday that Mazarei landed on the All-SCIAC First Team for the third season in a row.
