Cal Lutheran Faces Linfield in NCAA First Round
SCIAC, NWC champs battle on Saturday

BRISTOL, Conn. - Announced on ESPNNews early Sunday afternoon California Lutheran University will head to McMinnville, Oregon to face Linfield (OR) College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday, November 21 at Noon. The entire NCAA field and bracket can be viewed here.

It will be a battle of conference champions in the opening match-up as Linfield (10-0) completed an undefeated season en route to the Northwest Conference title. Cal Lutheran (8-1) finished undefeated in conference play and is currently on an eight game win streak.

Saturday will mark the first playoff appearance of any kind for the Kingsmen since their fifth and final NAIA postseason appearance in 1982. CLU earned an NAIA national championship in its first opportunity during the 1971 campaign.

After earning its first outright SCIAC title in school history Cal Lutheran will appear in the NCAA postseason for the first time ever, doing so at Maxwell Field on the Bearcats campus.
