Cal Lutheran, Four SCIAC Baseball Players Earn D3baseball.com Preseason Honors

The defending NCAA Division III national champion Cal Lutheran baseball team, along with four Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) student-athletes earned D3baseball.com preseason honors as recently announced by the organization. 

Cal Lutheran finished its 2017 national championship season with a 40-11 overall record, earning the program's first-ever national crown after securing a second-straight SCIAC tournament title, and fourth since 2013. The Kingsmen, who defeated Washington & Jefferson, are ranked second in the 2018 D3baseball.com/NCBWA Preseason Top 25 Poll. The 2017 season marked the second time that Cal Lutheran reached the 40-win plateau. 

In addition, four SCIAC baseball players were named preseason All-Americans by D3baseball.com including Redlands senior catcher Rainier Aguilar and senior starting pitcher Felix Minjarez  who were named to the second team. Cal Lutheran senior second baseman Max Weinstein and La Verne junior utility player Christopher Peres were named honorable mention.
