HEAD WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH

 

California Lutheran University, a Division III NCAA institution, is seeking a dynamic and skilled candidate for the position of Head Coach for its Women's Basketball program. This is a ten (12) month full-time position reporting to the Director of Athletics.

A desired candidate will have had a proven record of success in all aspects of coaching, recruiting and the development of outstanding scholar student-athletes. The Head Coach will be evaluated for competitive success, overall student-athlete development by way of a meaningful educational experience for student-athletes, and for establishing a sport culture in which he/she is viewed by the student-athletes as a mentor, educator, and role model. In addition, the Head Coach will be responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals, and mission of California Lutheran University and its athletics program as well as adherence to The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA policies and procedures.

Regals basketball plays their home games in the newly built Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center that houses the Gilbert Arena, Soiland Recreation Center, Forrest Fitness Center new locker rooms and athletic training facilities. The 225-acre California Lutheran University campus is located midway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, nestled against the hills in Thousand Oaks, just 14 miles inland from Malibu and easily accessible from the Ventura 101 Freeway. Thousand Oaks, home to 127,000 people, and is rated one of the safest cities of its size in America, according to FBI statistics.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required, MA preferred with demonstrated collegiate coaching success, leadership, integrity, strong communication and interpersonal skills and a genuine understanding and commitment to Division III intercollegiate athletics. CPR/ AED and First Aid Certification is required subsequent to date of hire.
