LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Dec. 13, 2007) - New year, new look, same winning tradition. Following months of planning, developing and countless hours of data transfer, Occidental College is proud to reveal the new home of Oxy Athletics at http://www.oxyathletics.com/.
In mid October Occidental began the initial steps to partner with PrestoSports, a Rockville, MD based company. PrestoSports was founded in 2002 by a team with more than 40 years of combined experience in collegiate athletics. Since then they have become the leading provider of athletic content management software for colleges across the nation.
"Occidental College is very excited about partnering with PrestoSports for a variety of reasons," said Director of Athletics Jaime Hoffman. "Working with a knowledgeable and insightful PrestoSports staff, who possess a successful background in the field of Division III athletics, has helped us to create a remarkable website that meets our need. A captivating site with current news, photos, scores and stats will allow us to highlight our Tigers student-athletes for their accomplishments on the field of play. Information will be more readily available and user friendly for our student-athletes, fans, alumni, parents and Oxy supporters."
The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
(SCIAC) website (thesciac.org) was developed
in 2006 by PrestoSports. With the conference using D3Scoreboard as a means to
report scores, updates will be available immediately following
contests. Other schools around the conference who have also signed
on with PrestoSports are Whittier College, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
and Caltech. Both the University of La Verne and the University of
Redlands are in the initial stages of developing through
PrestoSports as well.
