Fifty-Seven SCIAC Softball Student-Athletes Garner NFCA Scholar Athlete Accolades

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) had a total of 57 softball student-athletes garner 2016-17 Easton/NFCA NCAA Division III Scholar Athlete honors as announced by the organization Tuesday.

All eight of the SCIAC softball teams were represented on the list which included a record 7,351 softball players spanning seven membership divisions. Student-athletes must have had a 3.5 GPA or higher to qualify for the prestigious honor and Pomona-Pitzer led the way with nine selections for the SCIAC. Chapman, CMS and Redlands followed with eight honorees apiece, while Cal Lutheran followed with seven. La Verne and Whittier each had six student-athletes recognized, while Occidental rounded out the list with five selections.
