Several SCIAC Swimmers earned All-American honors on the fourth and final day of the 2017 NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving National Championships at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
Benjamin Brewer (Cal Lutheran) placed fourth overall in the men’s 1650 Free (15.28.80) while Ben Culberson (CMS) earned a sixth-place finish (15:32.19), respectively.
CMS’ Matt Williams finished his meet off strong with another All-American swim in the men’s 200 Back, placing seventh in a time of 1:48.06.
Kendall Holliman took fourth on the men’s 3M board with 522.25 points.
Ellie Jaques earned a point in her final event of the meet, finishing 16th in the 200 Breast finals (2:20.94).
Madison Kauahi placed 11th overall for Pomona-Pitzer in the women’s 100 Free earning 11 team points with a time of 50.98.
The men’s 400 Free relay team from Pomona-Pitzer placed 12th overall in a time of 3:01.18.
Mardell Ramirez from Cal Lutheran (51.77) and Jocelyn Crawford from CMS (52.53) competed in the 100 Free prelims.
In the women’s 1650 Free, Lizzie Carrade finished the prelims in a time of 17:27.50.
Sarah Jin from Pomona-Pitzer competed in the women’s 200 Back (2:03.96) along with teammate Angela Ling (2:07.44).
Claire Bacon-Brenes competed in the women’s 200 Breast for CMS (2:23.29).
Graham Spurzem from CMS made his Championships debut competing in the 100 Free (45.84).
Caltech’s Thomas Gallup just missed out on the men’s 200 Breast finals placing 18th in the prelims (2:03.75).
